Collagen, Health & Natural Glow: What Truly Makes the Difference

People often ask me about collagen as a supplement - “Does it really help with skin?” My answer? It helps, but not the way most people think. Collagen doesn’t just go straight to the face and smooth wrinkles. It’s broken down to amino acids in the stomach and small intestine, then used wherever your body needs it - like joints, muscles, bones, or even gut lining.
That’s not to say collagen is useless. In fact, I recommend a high-quality hydrolyzed collagen peptide if you’re looking to support connective tissue and graceful aging. But real, lasting beauty - the kind that radiates from the inside - takes more than just a supplement or topical remedy.
Here are some of the things I personally do and suggest to my clients when they want to look and feel their best:
Stay Hydrated. I know it sounds simple, but it’s powerful. I always remind people that dehydration shows up on your skin first. Adding a squeeze of lemon or some fresh mint to make it more refreshing. Don't forget - herbal teas count, too.
Eat Clean, Colorful Foods. What we eat becomes part of us. I try to choose whole, vibrant foods - like greens, berries, avocados, wild-caught fish, and nourishing broths. These not only support your skin but your energy and mood, too. Be sure to follow your blood type dietary suggestions so your body gets the nutrients it needs most
Choose the Right Supplements. When I recommend supplements, I always focus on purity and quality. Collagen, yes - but also vitamin C (which helps your body build collagen), omega-3s, and mineral-rich support depending on your needs. I never suggest taking everything - just the right things individually chosen.

Spend Time in Nature. Even 10 minutes outside shifts everything for me. When I walk barefoot in the grass or sit in the sun for a few minutes, I feel more grounded and present. It softens stress, which absolutely shows on the face.
Prioritize Joy and Connection. Some of the most beautiful people I know are those who laugh often, love deeply, and feel connected to others. Try to make time for friends, family, and simple things that bring joy - because true beauty glows from happiness.
I hear this all the time from clients: “I’m at that age now - I need to start taking care of myself.” And while I’m always glad when someone decides to invest in their health, waiting until “that age” means playing catch-up. True health and beauty are built over time - through daily habits, nourishment, movement, and emotional well-being. Caring for yourself early, even when everything still feels fine, is one of the greatest gifts you can give your future self. It’s not about perfection - it’s about honoring your body with love and consistency.
So yes, collagen has its place - but it’s not magic on its own. True beauty comes from how we nourish ourselves, how we feel, and how we live each day - not only when we're in crisis mode.
